Claudio Ieva Resume

Claudio Ieva is a Chartered structural engineer specialised in bridge design.

In over 10 years of international experience, Claudio has acquired substantial knowledge in the analysis, design and construction support of a wide range of steel bridges, cable supported bridges and concrete segmental bridges.

He is strongly passionate about getting our planet to net zero and he brings his contribution delivering Bridge Projects at the Lowest Possible Carbon Emission following the approach of ‘Build Nothing’, ‘Build Less’, ‘Build Clever’ and ‘Build Efficiently’.

His experience has been enriched during his work at AECOM thanks to challenging projects such as Msikaba River Gorge, the New Forth Replacement Crossing Bridge and the Fourth Manama Crossing bridge. Moreover, he has considerable experience in post-tensioned viaducts (e.g. segmental or in situ concrete viaducts) gained during the work period spent in Italy as designer at DEAL srl, Rizzani de Eccher Group and TOTO Construzioni Generali.

History:
“He attained the Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering at POLITECNICO DI MILANO, specializing in Structural Engineering.

During this period of studies he was selected for the Erasmus Students Exchange Program and he attended the Politecnica De Madrid, Spain for one year. Attaining the C1 Level in Spanish Language.

In the whole university career he acquired wide knowledge about theory, dynamic, stability and mechanics of structures as well as geotechnics and earthquake engineering.

He spent part of the 2012 and part of 2013 in Politecnica De Madrid with Professor Miguel Angel Astiz, (Carlos Fernandez Casado), working on the Optimization of the Cantilever Launching Method for Concrete Arch Bridges.
