Fourth Manama Crossing Bridge
The North Manama Causeway Phase-2 includes, seven continuous spans of in-situ multicellular concrete box with a central cable-stayed span called signature bridge. A concept produced by BEaM Architects is depicted in the picture below.
The pylon relies on the unfavourable side of the span, this means that statically there is no help, therefore, deck, pylon and vehicles load is given to some other element, the cable. The bridge design is directly dependent from the stays stressing sequence.
The picture is taken from the Architects Page: BEaM.
Engineering design by AECOM.
